"We devote so much energy to finding the tricks to extraordinary weight loss that we have no energy left to do the ordinary things that will lead to sustainable success."
Tim
So, normally, I would draw you into the first few sentences and then build up to my main point but today I am going to just blurt it out because it’s that important.
Extraordinary weight loss, or any other goal, is achieved by doing ordinary things for extraordinary amounts of time. Think about that for a moment….
This is true in so many areas of life. I have spent thousands of dollars on events, courses, and masterminds looking for that magic that I am missing. The magic doesn’t exist and every single time I come home from an event I come back with a better understanding about the importance of consistency over a long period of time. While I am not trying to disrespect tools and education, it seems like most of the time we have what we need to get started but for some reason we think we need that perfect formula that will provide us with exponential results. Maybe we aren’t even looking for the “easy” way, maybe we are just looking for that complicated way to make it seem like we have some sort of secret technique or process.
It doesn’t make sense that the “hack” that we really need to find success is doing simple things repeatedly regardless of the results they produce. Sure, meal prepping 100 times in a row isn’t as sexy as buying a fancy supplement to add to our water, but I can personally guarantee that if you do proper meal prep for 100 times you WILL see results.
At the end of the day, you don’t need a program, meal planner, monthly subscription, (although we love ours 😊), or a new fad diet. What we do need is ordinary daily habits repeated over and over until they become so ingrained in our lives that they are just part of who we are.
If you want to be extraordinary at anything, become a pro at doing ordinary things with an extraordinary commitment to repeat them for an extraordinary amount of time.
Start today! Get back to the ordinary by eating a whole food plant-based diet, go out for a walk, and prepare your meals ahead of the week. Then, repeat these one million times.
Until next time,
Tim and Heather
