I thought starting a blog would be a good idea because I’m working on a book and I figured it would be a great place to jot my thoughts down. I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing when it comes to a blog and honestly, I’ve never even subscribed to one. Aside from jotting my thoughts down I love to share my story, not for kudos or attaboys but I genuinely want my story to encourage other people to change their life. My life has changed so drastically and that feels amazing but when I witness someone else making healthy changes because of my example I get ecstatic. Never in a million years would I have imagined that this 400 pound, sick, depressed, crippled guy could talk someone else into eating healthy and exercising.
So, what’s the plan? My goal is to write about a topic at least once a week. The topics will be lessons that I have learned (and am still learning) along my way. Things I wish someone would have told me years ago although I likely wouldn’t have listened anyway. I firmly believe that a healthy life can’t happen from diet and exercise alone. I have found that most of the time we treat symptoms and not problems. Losing weight and getting fit are not rocket science BUT how do you stay in it a lifetime? I strongly believe that obesity and living an unhealthy life is a just a symptom of something else that needs to be dealt with. With that said, the topics I write about will cover a broad spectrum. As my life started changing I started to realize that the food was actually a small part of what was wrong in my life but time and time again I told myself if I could just drop 100 pound everything would be better. I was wrong. Without further ado, let’s get this blog started. I sincerely hope I can keep it interesting and worthwhile.
